Terms of Service
These terms describe the current use of this unofficial fan site. They are not legal advice. We may update them when the service, features, or rules change; continued use means you accept the current version.
The service
BPB Builds provides unofficial Backpack Battles tools: build pages, an item catalog, a creator for drafting and submitting builds, and an optional combat sandbox. The site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Some tools (for example the combat sandbox and board PNG or transparent animation export up to 20 seconds) may require a Premium or founding membership.
Site analytics
We count public page visits once per browser session. When you are signed in, a daily page count may be associated with your site profile for the private owner analytics view; visits from people who are not signed in are grouped together. The owner view shows the last 30 days and is not public. See Privacy for the data details.
Premium / founding
Paid Premium is offered at $3/month (USD) via Stripe. Subscriptions renew until you cancel in the Stripe Customer Portal (linked from the site when signed in). Access for paid members follows Stripe subscription status — including through the end of a billing period if you cancel at period end. If a renewal payment fails, Premium pauses until the payment goes through; the billing portal stays available for updating your card or downloading invoices. Premium-only looks are taken off your public profile while you do not have Premium.
The first 10 eligible Discord sign-ins after the founding promo starts may receive lifetime Premium (founding). Founding is a site grant: it is not removed when a Stripe subscription is canceled, and founding members do not need a paid Stripe sub to keep Premium.
Prices, promo timing, and which features are gated may change; the offer UI and these terms are the current stub description, not a permanent price lock beyond what Stripe has already billed.
Combat sandbox
The combat sandbox is unofficial and predictive. It does not reproduce live PvP, does not replay Steam history combat logs, and is not warranted to match the shipped game. Do not treat it as official Backpack Battles combat.
Fan-made / unofficial
We are not affiliated with Backpack Battles or its developers and publishers. Game content on this site is for community reference only.
User-generated builds
If you submit a build, you confirm you have the right to share that content. You grant us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and moderate it on BPB Builds (including OP review, featuring, and soft-hide). Every submitted build must include at least one item in each of the Needs, Wants, and Good to have sections.
- Do not upload malware, spam, or illegal material
- Do not impersonate others or abuse voting / submission systems
- We may remove or hide builds that break these terms or harm the community
- Event entries stay private to their author until that event's gallery opens
- For events without community voting, site owners may verify eligible entries and select the winning build
Blob cosmetic submissions
Profile Blob / Inventory may offer a Submit cosmetic form for original blob art. By submitting, you confirm you have the right to share that art and grant us a non-exclusive license to review, host, display, and moderate it on BPB Builds. Submitted artwork is private while it is queued for review. We may reject or remove submissions; if approved, it is added to the site's cosmetic catalog on hold, and we decide whether, when, and how players can get it. Do not put secrets in the description.
Site owners may upload official cosmetic artwork through the private admin page. Those uploads are kept as private catalog drafts until an owner publishes them; published artwork and its catalog metadata may be displayed in the public wardrobe and announced in the BPB Builds community.
Official cosmetics are earned (Premium, events, quests) or, once the market opens, bought with site coins. Nobody owns one until they earn or buy a copy. Each copy is numbered, some cosmetics have a limited number of copies, and coins and cosmetics have no cash value.
Site owners may upload public banner and icon artwork for community events and confirm they have the right to use it.
Combat sandbox reports
The optional Report issue form on the combat sandbox sends a description plus frozen session facts (seed, board, opponent, permalink) so we can investigate sim bugs. Site owners review those reports on a private admin page. Do not put secrets or unrelated personal data in the description. See Privacy.
History uploads
Optional Steam history.db uploads are used to attach real run history to a
draft or published build. Only upload files you are allowed to use. See
Privacy for what we store.
Paused screenshot import
Screenshot-to-build reconstruction is not offered at launch. The Create page does not accept backpack screenshots for processing, and its optional cloud vision fallback is disabled. If the feature returns, we will update these terms and Privacy before enabling it.
Accounts
Optional Discord sign-in is provided through Supabase Auth and returns to the approved BPB Builds site URL where sign-in began. Voting requires a signed-in Discord account; a confirmed vote click is resumed after that OAuth return. There is no email/password register form on this site. You are responsible for activity under your Discord-linked account. We may suspend access for abuse (spam, vote manipulation, impersonation, etc.). When site owners enable private access, use may require both Discord sign-in and membership in the BPB Builds community server; a server-side verification controls access to Supabase-backed app data and cannot be supplied by browser profile edits. Signing in with Discord also adds your account to the BPB Builds community server (Discord asks for this permission on its sign-in screen). You can leave the server at any time. If your Discord account is in the community server, your site plan may be shown there as a Premium or founding role, and your server nickname may keep the name you set plus how many builds you have uploaded. Public builds are also posted in that server's builds forum.
Conduct
Don’t attempt to disrupt the service, scrape aggressively, or circumvent safety controls. We may refuse service where needed to protect the site and players.

Updates to these terms
We will change the date above when these terms are revised. Material changes may also be called out in the site UI or community announcements. Feature-specific behavior is governed by the version published when you use that feature.
